The Tower upright
The Tower is the earthquake card, and yes, it can be unsettling. But its message is profoundly liberating. It represents a sudden change that brings down whatever was resting on shaky foundations: beliefs, plans or situations that, deep down, were no longer true. Sometimes life doesn't wait until you feel ready to change; it gives you a push. It might be an unexpected revelation, a conversation that changes everything or a realisation there's no going back from. Even if the moment feels intense, what falls away makes room to build something more authentic. Think of the lightning as a light that suddenly reveals what was hidden. After the shake-up comes enormous clarity. What truly belongs to you will remain; the rest was really just weighing you down.
The Tower reversed
Reversed, The Tower may mean the change is happening on the inside: a quiet crisis of belief or a private awakening. It can also reflect an attempt to avoid something that's already wobbling, putting off a collapse that, deep down, you know is necessary. Resisting usually prolongs the discomfort. This position invites you to let go little by little, by your own choice, before life asks you to do it all at once. A change you choose is always gentler.
