Temperance upright
Temperance arrives like a soothing balm. After intense times, this card brings you calm, balance and the feeling that everything is starting to find its place. It speaks of the wisdom of the right measure: not too much and not too little. It invites you to patiently blend the different parts of your life, like work and rest, reason and emotion, or what you give and what you receive, until you find your own recipe for harmony. It's a card of emotional healing and reconciliation, with yourself and with others. There's no rush: important processes need their time, like a good stew on a low heat. Trust the natural rhythm of things. When you act from a place of calm, your decisions are wiser and your energy flows without wearing you out.
Temperance reversed
Reversed, Temperance warns that something is out of balance: perhaps you're working too much, not looking after yourself, or swinging from one extreme to the other without finding the middle ground. It can also reflect impatience, wanting instant results from processes that need time. This position encourages you to look at where you've lost your sense of proportion and make small adjustments. You don't need to change everything; it's enough to start blending again with care, like tweaking a recipe until it tastes right.
